🚨Roy Keane on Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City:
“Everyone is talking about the City goal and whether it should have stood. Fine, it was controversial. But before we blame VAR, what on earth were Manchester United doing for the rest of the game?
United actually started well, but then Carrick’s decision-making became a problem. You start your striker against Sabah in the Champions League and then leave him on the bench against Manchester City? You spend big money bringing in Sesko, yet you’re trying to turn Cunha into a No.9. Why? It makes no sense.
And then you wait until the 70th minute to bring Sesko on. Against City! That’s poor management.
I like Carrick’s ideas and I think his football can be good, but decisions win football matches. Right now, United aren’t making enough of them. Amorim controlled his players better than Carrick does.
United also don’t have enough quality in certain areas. At this rate, they’ll spend another season fighting for the top four and calling it progress. Manchester United should be fighting for trophies, not excuses. Carrick has to improve, and quickly.”
Pro Ref has admitted an "error of judgement" in allowing Erling Haaland's Manchester derby winner to stand.
The refereeing body says VAR should have recommended an on-field review over Enzo Fernandez's involvement from an offside position.
