@WilliceOchieng1 what explanation can we give about the changing of the sound "g". In 'Giraffe' it takes the sound 'j' as well as in 'gin' but in other words like 'girl', 'goat' it takes the sound 'g' and not 'j'. What causes such variations in sound 'g'?

@WilliceOchieng1 Thanks so much for your response sir. For the CBC assignments of identifying sounds. Eg 'giraffe', will my child be marked wrong if she suggests that the sound is 'j'? 'cat' takes sound 'c', 'hut' takes sound 'h', 'kettle takes sound 'k'. What would be 'giraffe'? 'j' or 'g'?
