United Airlines is selling “window seats” that do not have a window

“A passenger's lawsuit claims that they were sold a window seat, but that seat did not include a window. United argues that window seat refers to a seat's location in relation to an aisle.

What’s wild is I found this is not expensive to United Airlines. Nearly all major airlines sell window seats that do not include a window

- United Airlines: Actively sells them for extra fees
- Delta Air Lines: Similar situation; also facing a parallel lawsuit.
- American Airlines Has them but generally discloses “no window view” during booking
- Alaska Airlines: Has them on its Boeing fleet, discloses them clearly
- JetBlue: Has them on some planes
- Southwest: Reports of this happening with their new assigned seating rollout
