Proud to deliver $550k in federal funding for a new playground and splash pad at the Pomonok Houses in Queens! Our kids deserve a fun and safe space to play and grow. Now that we’ve officially broken ground, I can’t wait to see this project come to life right in our community.
A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated JCRC-NY team, the extraordinary NYPD, our great partners at UJA-Federation of New York, and the tens of thousands of New Yorkers who made this year’s Israel Day on Fifth Parade such a tremendous success.
At its core, this parade has always been about people...our pride as Jewish New Yorkers, our enduring connection to our ancestral homeland of Israel, our gratitude for living in the greatest city in the world, New York City, and our belief in a future rooted in security, democracy, coexistence, and peace.
While some individuals who attended were neither invited by JCRC-NY nor known to us in advance, participation in the parade is not an endorsement of any political figure or ideology. We reject rhetoric that dehumanizes others, fuels division, or diminishes the dignity of any human being.
The values that guide our work are respect for every person, support for peace and coexistence, and a commitment to ensuring that every community in New York feels safe, supported, and respected.
Yesterday was a powerful reminder that our community stands strong, proud, and united. The parade was about the people, and it always will be.
When George Santos was our Congress rep in these neighborhoods you name, @Grace4NY & her district team provided their aide in constituent services when our Queens neighbors of #NY03 didn’t have it.
So yes, thankfully Queens does have a fighter in Congress w/ Grace.
Try again.
@GovKathyHochul just signed the buffer bill at @MetCouncilNews legislative breakfast. This is the beginning of protecting the Jewish community and all religious communities from being able to enter houses of worship safely. @SpeakerMenin started this with her leadership with spearheading the NYC’s bill from protection from protests. Thank you to all politicians for taking the first steps to keeping the Jewish community safe.
There are just two weeks until early voting starts here in NYC, and our team has been making sure we get out the vote in our community!

I spent two hours yesterday at Delaney Hall in Newark where 700 detainees are being held by ICE. What I saw and heard was horrific: worm-infested food, no access to medical care, no way to connect with their families.
Many of the detainees were lawful visa holders, including one 18-year-old who is missing her graduation and prom because she is being held in a cell.
This is not America. This is unacceptable, and it has to stop now.
Honored to earn the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation Voters (@nylcv)!
From fighting for cleaner air in Queens, to securing resilient infrastructure & transit access, I’m ready to deliver real climate action for AD 30. Let’s build a sustainable future together.
Bagels & Co., a Kosher bagel shop in Queens, was attacked a few days ago.
A window was broken, and the planters outside the eatery were purposefully knocked over.
But the attacker didn't get what he was looking for.
Instead, hundreds of Jewish customers descended on the building yesterday afternoon, waiting in the hot sun for a delicious lunch and, more importantly, the opportunity to show the world that we will not be intimidated out of public life.
“You evil Zionist bitch!”
80 year old Academy award winner Dame Helen Mirren attacked on the street for saying that Jews shouldn’t be murdered.
Attacking people for saying Jews shouldn’t be murdered doesn’t help your cause. Unless, of course, that’s your cause.
Inbox: UJA-Federation of New York purchased 20,000 bags of the Israeli snack Bamba in response to the Park Slope Food Coop Israeli boycott vote.
It will be distributed at the Celebrate Israel parade on Sunday.
Our Pomonok neighbors have spoken. They asked for more security cameras, functional intercom system and increased lighting at building entrances. I heard them and just got the money for this initiative passed out of committee! @nycha
It was an honor to join @CMJulieWon and our Tibetan community to celebrate the street co-naming for the Sakya Tsechen Association at 35-16 63rd Street in Woodside.
For years, Sakya Tsechen has been a cornerstone of the local Tibetan community—preserving culture and faith, supporting families, and creating a welcoming space. They have created a home for our Buddhist community in Queens that will continue to bring people together for generations to come.
Proud to have earned the endorsement of the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club. I will continue to fight for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and to defend equal rights in Congress.
