True. Had they not “dealt with” me, I would still be at UCT — still medicated for depression and anxiety, possibly no longer here at all (suicide).
Instead, they set me free. They made me a multimillionaire, taught me that my life is far more precious than any institution, and gave me the greatest gift: the chance to choose myself. Today I work for me, on my own terms. I’m watching my first grandchild grow, living fully, and standing tall — never charged, never suspended, and unbothered — three years later.
They’re still angry about it and they work hard to stop my every move in academia. But the world is bigger.
Here is a lesson to every woman watching: when your detractors come for you, play as rough as they do, use every policy in the book, make your demands, and then choose yourself. Never die at work.
I outsmarted them, and I’m thriving.

#SouthAfricans🇿🇦 are coming home in large numbers, with many returning from Australia, Europe, & Canada. This is according to recruitment group, DNA Employer of Record (EOR), which has seen a 70% increase in active returns over the past year from London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Sydney etc....all booking one-way tickets back home. #SouthAfrica is experiencing a string of good news, driving optimism both socially & economically.
📍🇿🇦 received its first credit rating upgrade in 20 years.
📍The rand is stronger, as reforms are taking shape. SA is Africa's biggest & most industrialised economy.
📍The government has achieved two consecutive primary budget surpluses for the first time in 15 years, and inflation has been lowered to a 3% target.
📍The JSE has been one of the best-performing stock markets in the world, experiencing 50% growth since the start of the year.
📍“In a global economy full of uncertainty, South Africa is a stable bet,” said DNA EOR. 
📍Eskom has ended load shedding across the country, with private generation also gathering pace. 
📍The Government of National Unity (GNU) has also boosted investor confidence, while other governance improvements, such as being removed from the grey list, have shown significant improvements. 
📍The successful #G20 Presidency has solidified 🇿🇦's place as an influential global player.
