@seinwen The lump sum may sound like a lot of money, but employees have never been able to withdraw all the contributions (there's a calculation). If there's anything that would make the fund collapse (hopefully not), it would be billions dong of social insurance debts owed by companies.
Vietnam passes the new Law on Social Insurance: People who join social insurance system from 1 July 2025 can't withdraw their pension after quitting their jobs, unless they move overseas, have serious illnesses, disabilities, and reduced work capacity.
