The rights to assembly and free expression are fundamental here in Canada, but there are laws that must be adhered to, and we will enforce them.
Officers are on the ground today to uphold the right to demonstrate lawfully while holding those who engage in criminal activity accountable.
Today and every day we remember Sgt. Ryan Russell who was killed in the line-of-duty 13 years ago while serving and protecting the people of Toronto.

Bingo, one of our K9s, was killed in the line of duty by gunfire tonight. Thank you for keeping our members safe and thank you for your service. My deepest condolences to his partner and to all of our @TPSK9 unit.
I’ve lost my brother today. Life as I know it has changed forever. Words cannot describe how much I love my big little brother. I am so proud of him, his accomplishments, and the man he has become. I’ll miss him always.
Catch you on the other side Brett. I love you forever.

Great work by @TPS55Div after a traffic stop led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of a gun, ammunition and drugs. They now face more than 20 charges and will appear in court today. https://t.co/tz9zryeqws
@drewisthe Probably not a scam. He probably legit thinks his phone is there. But the radius is probably huge. Have him play the remote sound. Someone may have thrown it in a bush around there
