Eep! On Saturday Horsham Chamber Choir are being joined by The Drystones for concert of folk tunes. This performance looks at how a classical group can present folk music more authentically. The Drystones are bringing their own fresh approach with live electronics.
Can’t stop smiling after a second day of adjudicating the House Music competition (House Shout this morning) at @RGSprep. What a wonderful culture that has been instilled into those boys from ALL the staff there, not just Music - congratulations!

Where might I look to start research on the above? I’m more interested in the social function i.e were they performed in the same spaces or was there some juicy rivalry between purists of each art?

Thinking about that annoying article linking museum visits to cultural capital/educational attainment, in addition to discussions today about arts orgs being convinced to move out of London to help us level/‘culture’ up and am utterly despairing at arts policy in this country.
