Ohio’s Haitian community have found something else to sink their teeth into: a nice, fat, juicy lawsuit against Donald Trump and JD Vance. The pair have used tales of Haitian migrants devouring local pets repeatedly on the campaign trail, with Trump’s debate line of ‘they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats’ going so viral it turned into multiple hit singles. This has not gone down well with Ohio’s Haitians, who have repeatedly denied the allegations.

The head of the Haitian Bridge Alliance, a non-profit organization, has filed charges in Clark County, Ohio against Trump and Vance. The charges include making false alarms, harassment, aggravated menacing and disrupting public services. The group said that the allegations ‘have harmed the Springfield community, and their lies have violated criminal law,’ adding that ‘this is about confronting white supremacy, anti-black rhetoric, and hate speech that seems to be a constant in US politics and that continues to cause suffering. No one is above the law.’
