Dr. Santos has served as an ICRA Editor and IEEE Haptics Symposium Editor-in-Chief, among other duties. She was a General Co-Chair for the 2022 IEEE Haptics Symposium, a role she will continue for 2024.

Dr. Santos was selected for an NSF CAREER Award, the U.S. Defense Science Study Group, a U.S. National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium, and numerous teaching awards. Her work has appeared in TechCrunch and Forbes, among others.

Her academic interests include haptics, teleoperation, virtual reality, medical robotics, soft robotics, rehabilitation, and education. Outside academia, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, running, and playing ice hockey.
