@WHOC2C I’ve wanted to ask Al about this for a while.
Firstly, when was the Tuxedo 10th Doctor originally created, and is this paint-master that I’ve had since last year real at all?
Thanks a bunch!
BREAKING: #DoctorWho star William Russell, who played one of the show's first companions in 1963 and recently reprised the role for a cameo in 2022, has died aged 99.
@DocWhoFigures This was ages ago but just a little correction, someone actually bought three so this isn’t 100% accurate.
I managed to buy one before they’d hiked the price up a bit, I remember when the listing said they’d sold around 40, but from memory there was at least 2 listings of it.
@CaptainJimiPie What I’d like to know is, where did you get it from and how much did you pay if at all? For all I know, you were given this for free as a gift. What you paid (if you did) obviously doesn’t gauge its current market value, but I’ll go out on a limb and assume it wasn’t that much.
@CaptainJimiPie And that’s not because I want you to lower the price so I can buy it and sell it for more, if I did that I’d be stuck with it forever and MAYBE get $100USD out of it, but I can’t see even that being a possibility.
@CaptainJimiPie I’ve really only come here to say that if you’re actually wanting to get anything, you’ll have to lower your expectations. Even half of what you’re asking is a push, it’s just not realistic.
@CaptainJimiPie I feel like you’ve only posted saying you don’t want to hear this, because part of you knows it’s not reasonable.
People will voice their opinions anyway. Obviously there just be a lot of people disagreeing with you for you take that to Twitter.
@CaptainJimiPie I can’t see it appreciating an awful much in value, honestly. What makes it so special? It’s appraisal? Nothing sets it much far apart from its released version, that’s why I’m having a very hard time understanding this. Many that I have here I paid a lot less for.
@CaptainJimiPie This is especially unappealing being that it literally looks like it's sat in a window for the last decade and yellowed. Not particularly a stand-out feature and not really something that proto collectors will be looking out for. They can get much more interesting items for less
@CaptainJimiPie You're also forgetting that something is really only worth what someone is willing to pay. Why not put it up for bids? If it's actually worth what you're asking, the right person will bid the right amount, correct? Otherwise, why would someone pay that outright.
@CaptainJimiPie I'm gonna be honest with you here, this is probably worth $150USD at best, it just doesn't have the kind of value that you hoping it will have to someone else. I can promise you this, it won't sell. Wait it out all you like, no one is buying it for that much.
@CaptainJimiPie Right, you need the money. But again, that's not how you value something. If you actually need this money you'll need to likely sell more items at lower prices, you aren't going to get it all in one go for something as uninteresting at this.
@CaptainJimiPie I'm not sure who you're trying to appeal to, though. There's so many more options around right now for much nicer and interesting items, for less. I can't see anyone buying this at that price, sorry. I'd really like to see who's given you indications that it's value is that high.
@CaptainJimiPie I have yet to see someone who agrees with your asking price, and I've seen many people talking about this. Of course you're free to do this, but just because you need the money, it doesn't justify placing that price on it, and it definitely doesn't mean anyone will pay for it 2/2
@CaptainJimiPie Come to voice my opinion (against your word) that it isn't worth what you're asking. It's a released figure with an orange tint. I paid less than half for all my pre-production prototype doctors, and probably around the same price for my tux 10 paintmaster. 1/2
