@fchralph And in some jurisdictions you can remit back from the superior court. Covid also provided the opportunity to increase the MC jurisdiction. My point is, that from an Australian perspective, it's not that radical.
The UK is contemplating abolishing the right to trial by jury for offences not exceeding 3 years. A mistake and subject to an impassioned plea from this honourable member.

@NickClairmont1@fchralph Criminal trials have nothing to do with innocence. Judges direct juries so. It's about whether guilt can be proved by the state beyond a reasonable doubt. Nothing more. Nothing less..
