ALL of Ontario now limited to indoor gatherings of 10, outdoor gatherings of 25. Except schools. Because the virus apparently cannot penetrate our magical school walls. https://t.co/CLAhFNLty5 #OntEd
The Minister of Ed has told school boards to ensure that K to 12 students receive up to 225 minutes a day of live synchronous online instruction. Or, almost 4hrs per day of live online learning for 4,5,6,7,8... year old students. Let that sink in! @ETFOeducators#onted
Read both of @Travisdhanraj tweets:
@fordnation says back to school plan is not his govt’s plan, he’d be “nervous” to send his kids to school & parents can keep kids home.
#OntEd is provincial govt responsibility. The govt needs to plan for, ensure & fully fund a #SafeSeptember
@bingslnzp @CBCNews But educators shouldn’t have to fund a #SafeSeptember out of pocket in fear because the government won’t provide the necessary safety precautions. Grocery stores have better safety protocols in place!
@bingslnzp @CBCNews I would LOVE to see dividers provided. I see educators buying them at Costco for $120! Classrooms are not designed for 28 kids spaced out. It’s a safety hazard as there’s not enough walking space between desks. If they won’t reduce classes, make EVERY effort. Not just masks!
ATTN parents- if you didn’t know already, school boards may require preregistration of students in order for them to attend class in person this fall, if the deadline is missed they may be waitlisted #Onpoli#Onted
