Come through @DrivelineBB this Summer to go through our Hitting Biomechanics and force plate assessment in our motion capture lab
Collin Priest (@IronBirds) nearly leaves the yard in RCF, ending up at second with a 1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣.9️⃣mph (383ft) double.💪🛩️
Another barrel for Priest who entered the game with an impressive barrel rate of 29%.

If we can measure it, we can find a way to improve it. That's at the core of the @DrivelineBB way. That's why PULSE is so important. Here's how some pros are using the arm care/worklaod tech: https://t.co/HDeIyMMT9p
It's interesting to see different examples of how athletes move during the swing phase and what movement compensations an athlete may do to get to contact.
This hitter separates a ton, but doesn't hold separation after downswing, causing him to lose his 'stretch' early.
The ability to adjust both the timing & amount of HSS is also a valuable tool
Tatis with a great demo on these HRs from 2025
Out in front — continues to separate to buy time
Late / deep POC — creates enough HSS (but far less than usual)

Every time I see someone talk about the return of small ball, I go look and see if the run value proposition has changed, & .. not really. Value of hard contact has dropped a bit in recent years as defense keeps getting better, but it doesn't make not-hard contact more valuable.
Timing of separation is more important than the amount of separation.
If you want to get better at hitting, it’s pretty important to know exactly what happens when you’re hitting.
You don’t have to guess.
The timing and amount of separation is incredibly important for creating bat speed and adjustability in your swing.
Create too much too early and you won't fully utilize the stretch-shortening cycle, which allows the muscles to produce more force than they can on their own. This is the "rubber band" effect.
Hold that stretch too long and the muscles can't retain those elastic properties.
