I am pleased to announce The Tech Buddy will be attending the Professional Network of Aging Meeting November 13th. The Professional Network on Aging (PNA) is currently composed of over 250 organizations and 500 individuals serving today’s and tomorrow’s seniors. This is pretty exciting as I recently attended the Village of Germantown Senior Center fair. The vendor next to me was interested in my business and invited me as a guest of their major network. If you watch the latest Optimus dancing video in slow motion, you’ll notice that it’s not just dancing, but it’s hopping and balancing on one foot. Also, the string in the back isn’t even holding Tesla Bot up! This level of dynamic balance and control is EXTREMELY difficult to achieve for a humanoid robot. What Tesla is doing right now with Optimus is years ahead of what people realize.

There are three ways to pass but your mileage may vary.

Passing in gasoline powered car:
1. Check mirrors to see if lane is clear.
2. Ensure significant gap exists to allow for downshift and acceleration.
3. Remove hand from steering wheel, engage blinker from stalk.
4. Look over shoulder (take eyes off road) assess safety and that lane is clear.
5. Shift (wait for downshift), depress gas, accelerate as you pull into passing lane.
6. Listen to increased NVH if on phone, listening to music, or during conversation.
7. Upshift to maintain power curve and acceleration.
8. Accelerate past vehicle in lane, reverse sequence to move back to traveling lane.

Passing in a Tesla Model S:
1. Press left blinker button using thumb with both hands-on wheel.
2. Glance at screen for repeater camera view, ensure lane is clear.
3. Depress go pedal to accelerate instantly & silently
4. Reverse sequence to return to travel lane.

Passing with Tesla FSD:
1. Engage FSD, sit back, and relax

Big tunneling milestone!

For the first time, TBC has continuously mined in a Zero-People-in-Tunnel (ZPIT) configuration. There is nobody in the machine (besides the videographer), which is simultaneously advancing forward and erecting a ring (i.e. building the tunnel). Each full ring weighs ~24,000 pounds.

In the same way that full and rapid reusability is the holy grail for rockets, ZPIT continuous mining is the holy grail for Boring Machines.  This is the safest, fastest, and least expensive architecture to build tunnels.
