@lisaquestions @JinkiesJerrica @SlowpitchBitch I think there's also a dimension of tendon tension/flexibility, as pelvic tilt wouldn't change shoe size, and that can go down too (I shrunk 1 shoe size).
@TilFolkvang They brought rain back π§οΈ. The moment I was halfway up a climb and it started raining and I slipped to the bottom I knew it was going to be the same needless frustrations again π€·π»ββοΈ
Just like itβs bad form for a DM to turn the players into dialog-generating plot pawns in their scripted epic fantasy yarn, itβs also bad form for the players to turn the DM into a dispenser for personal cool and heroic moments and story and plot cues. It goes both ways.
Catching up on games, finally got through NeiR: Automata.. and Weight of the World sure hits hard when you're a trans femme living in these times... πΆ I'm only one girl πΆ...
Anyway, the game is art. Everyone should play it.
@DanLovatClark As evidence, look at other game genres that don't have publisher gatekeepers. In my early surveys on Escape Rooms, almost half of escape room designers were women. In the Indie RPG industry, there's an incredible spread of ideas and diverse viewpoints.
Part of broadening the industry has to mean broadening the sort of games we print. That seems obvious: why else would we broaden the industry? Why would we expect Jane Doe's game to look like a Reiner Knizia game? We already have Knizia games.
@JazzElves For bonus points, do things that fit with the property in your RPG/board game whatever that can *only* be done in your medium. That way, your game is both faithful, but also unique and brings something new to the property or world.
@JazzElves βπ» this is on target π
Ive made a bunch of board games for IPs, and this pretty nearly sums up how we approach it. Don't replicate the IP in a new medium, extract the vibes, the feels, the narrative beats, and use the unique tools of your medium to recreate those.
Breaking: An unprecedented heat wave is striking Inuit territories in northern Canada. In some places record-breaking heat has melted all of the snowpack when it should still be 1-2 feet deep. The Inuit say they are "becoming collateral damage for unsustainable choices" π§΅
@ArkAngel_Games@SenFoongLim It also doesn't replicate the kinematics of play. You don't get reaching, and picking up, and placing, happening in the organic way it does at a table. And when you're in the middle of a design (not an alpha but not dev-raady) those aspects are an important part of the test.
