@Turbinetraveler They had a few pylon issues on that aircraft type but it could fly on two and land on one, so some people living under the route just got lucky. Not many plumbed their windfall in though.
@Caf I rang first thing this morning and got through the introductory music and announcement by 0904. I was in position 35 in the queue. Also, it’s very irritating for the pre-recorded announcement to say “Please ring back in a couple of days“. To hear the same thing.
@Caf WHY are you not extending the telephone opening hours. You have (apparently) doubled the helpline staff - why not ask them to work overtime - they must be desperate to help their customers, just as the customers are desperate to PAY THEIR STAFF!
@Caf 14/ The ultimate test of CAF Bank’s response will not be how often it apologises, but how quickly it restores reliable service, how openly it explains what went wrong, and what it does to ensure such widespread disruption cannot happen again.
@Caf 12/ Customers recognise that cyber incidents are becoming more common and generally support decisive action to protect accounts. What they expect in return is transparency, regular technical updates, realistic timescales and clear evidence that lessons are being learned.
@Caf 11/ Charities depend on trust. CAF Bank has built its reputation on understanding the needs of the charitable sector, yet many charities have spent the past week diverting valuable volunteer and staff time simply trying to make routine payments.
@Caf 10/ It is also difficult to understand why a single software vulnerability has resulted in the complete suspension of online banking for so many days. This inevitably raises questions about system architecture, resilience, disaster recovery planning and business continuity arrmts
@Caf 9/ Many customers continue to experience very long waits, repeated verification calls and manual processes that are far less efficient than the digital services for which they pay.
@Caf 7/ Funds that cannot easily be used to pay employees, suppliers or urgent bills may as well be inaccessible for many organisations.
The bank also highlights increased staffing on telephone banking.
@Caf 6/ * why restoring service is taking so long;
* what milestones remain before the system can safely reopen; or
* when they can realistically expect online banking to return.
Saying that “money is safe” is reassuring, but access to money is equally important.
@Caf 5/ The statement repeatedly apologises but provides remarkably little concrete information. Customers still do not know:
* what type of vulnerability was discovered;
* whether any customer data has been compromised;
@Caf 4/ Customers chose CAF Bank, not its software suppliers. It is CAF’s responsibility to ensure its systems are resilient, that critical vulnerabilities can be mitigated without shutting down banking for an extended period, and that contingency arrangements exist.
@Caf 3/ The disruption has already caused significant operational difficulties.
The repeated explanation that the problem is due to a “previously unknown vulnerability in third-party software” does not remove CAF Bank’s responsibility.
