yeah the mum is a fucked up horrible disgusting person and should rot in prison but why is she getting life and the guy who did the actual raping is only getting 8 years??? make it make sense.
It’s fascinating to watch Emi’s dual role in Moonshadow. Chan and Sun look like completely different people, even when they are placed in similar situations. What’s especially amazing is how small details build up to create two distinct individuals, rather than just relying on a broad setup. Just like real twins.
First of all, her voice and the way she uses it are different. When Sun speaks, her speech has a more forward-moving quality, and when her emotions rise, there’s an immediate change in her pacing and intonation. On the other hand, Chan’s voice is lower and more stable, with a rhythm that seems to suppress her emotions right before letting her words out. Even when delivering the same lines, Sun sounds like someone whose words just burst out first, while Chan sounds like someone who carefully hands her words over after organizing her thoughts and feelings.
Their gazes are different too. While Sun’s eyes react quickly to her emotions, Chan doesn’t easily reveal her feelings, even when she looks at someone for a long time. Even when she makes eye contact, there’s a sense that she is holding something back, making Chan’s gaze feel much heavier.
The scene at the bar in EP 8 (around the 0:35 mark), where Sun walks towards Jay, was particularly impressive. Her center of gravity leans forward, and the movements of her upper body and arms are quite expansive. Rather than simply walking toward a destination, she seems to be physically drawn toward Jay.
However, the scene where Chan walks in a hurry is completely different. Even though it’s the same body, her center of gravity stays back, and her arm movements are much more contained than Sun’s.
There is a strong sense that she is completely controlling her body, even in an urgent situation. Because of this, Chan’s hurried steps convey a sense of responsibility and tension rather than mere impatience.
The pitch and breath of her voice, the rhythm of her speech, her gaze, her center of gravity, and the movement of her arms—all these tiny details add up. It’s obvious that the same actor plays both of them because they’re twins, yet they still feel like entirely different people. Emi absolutely nailed this dual role.
