—@RandyMoss on Hall of Fame voting after Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft were not selected 👀
Tony Dungy said on NBC that he will not disclose how he voted for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but says he’s upset with the process and it’s not the voters’ fault Bill Belichick is not in.
Former Patriot Rodney Harrison responded, upset, and pointed at Dungy: “You guys got it wrong.”
@PuddlesofWaters Sure: I think MIT Professor and Eagles fan Dr. John Leonard is much more capable than me, a lawyer, of showing why the science vindicated Tom Brady: https://t.co/n8ydM87fEi
1) There's no NFL equivalent of a search warrant. The NFL has no subpoena power. Its investigatory authority is contractual, namely through the CBA and player contracts.
2) Tom Brady was under no contractual obligation to turn over his phone. There's no contractual clause compelling that.
3) Would you turn over your phone, with photos and family stuff, to your employer?
4) Brady had reason to distrust. Anything on his phone is newsworthy. And he already saw leaks of false info to the media, including the "11 of 12 balls are more than 2 PSI underweight" report—a report that turned out to be totally false.
5) The NFL had texts Brady sent to Pats locker room staff because staff shared them.
Deflategate is a ridiculous controversy that was mishandled and, due to lack of CBA protections for Brady and other NFL players and due to two of the three Second Circuit's judges refusing to read procedural protections (like notice and sharing evidence) into the CBA, Brady loses as a matter of law. But he won the science.
