On this day in 1942, a 20 year old Ukrainian man perished in Auschwitz after being incarcerated for 1 month. Before being imprisoned he was a farmer. His name was Vasyl Babchuk

Some 232,000 children and adolescents were deported to the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, of whom about 216,000 were Jews, 11,000 Roma, about 3,000 Poles, more than a thousand Belorussians, and several hundred Russians, Ukrainians, and others. Most Jewish children were immediately murdered in gas chambers after arrival selections.

Some 23,000 children were registered in the camp as prisoners, of whom about 700 were liberated at Auschwitz on 27 January 1945.

On this day in 1864, a Jewish woman was born. Living in Czechoslovakia, on the 2 Jul 1942, she was deported to Theresienstadt and on the 26 Oct 1942 to Auschwitz where she was most likely murdered on arrival. Her name was Jindřiška Grossová

01.07.1942|Antoni Bielas was arrested by the German functionaries in Częstochowa. In January 1943 he was transferred to #Majdanek & registered as prisoner no. 9142. He remained at the camp until his evacuation to Gross-Rosen in April 1944 & then to Mauthausen-Gusen. He survived.

On this day in 1944, a 12 year old Dutch Jewish girl arrived at Auschwitz with her mother and brother, Schalom (9). It is most probable that they were murdered after selection. Her father perished in the camp in Aug 1943. Her name was Guta Towa Maliniak
