Celebrating Women's History Month with Miriam A. βMaβ Ferguson, who was elected the first female governor of Texas in 1924. In 1933, she signed on to the CCC program in Texas that brought us a legacy that you must see to appreciate in 28 of our current Texas State Parks.
Made of burnished and hammered sheet iron, they were created and installed by CCC Company 3807 -- an all African American company that built the roads, trails, and structures that you see and enjoy today at Ft. Parker State Park. #texasstateparks
