TY Danjuma Foundation is an independent, private, philanthropic grant making organisation committed to improving the quality of life of disadvantaged Nigerians.
What happens when teachers are equipped with innovative teaching methods? Learners become confident problem-solvers and creators.
Through the STEM Teachers' Fellowship, implemented by Teachers Aid Initiative with support from the TY Danjuma Foundation, public primary school pupils in Akwa Ibom State are applying science concepts through hands-on, project-based learning.
During a recent monitoring visit, learners confidently demonstrated innovative projects, including models of the solar system, friction, and water purification, made with locally sourced materials, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.
These classroom innovations reflect the impact of empowering teachers with practical, learner-centred approaches that make STEM education more engaging and relevant.
We appreciate the collaboration of the Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (AKSUBEB) and our implementing partner, Teachers Aid Initiative, in advancing quality education for every child.
Together, we are nurturing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.🎥 Watch some highlights from the classroom demonstrations.

In collaboration with the Everight Foundation, a Capacity Building and Training Programme for Community Health Ambassadors (CHAs) was held on 6 June 2026 at the Sabon Gari Primary Health Centre in Bwari, Abuja.
The programme equipped Community Health Ambassadors and healthcare workers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to promote awareness on HPV, cervical cancer, Hepatitis B & C, encourage screening and vaccination uptake, and support community-based health education initiatives.
A total of 64 Community Health Ambassadors and healthcare workers participated in the training, which covered disease prevention, early detection, vaccination, and effective community advocacy. Participants also completed pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gained and strengthen their capacity as health advocates.
Following the training, the Community Health Ambassadors carried out community sensitisation and awareness activities across Bwari and surrounding communities, mobilising residents to access screening, counselling, vaccination, and referral services. Women aged 40 years and above also benefited from cervical cancer screening, including Pap smear tests.
Through the dedication of the Everight Foundation, Community Health Ambassadors, healthcare workers, and community stakeholders, the intervention contributed to increased awareness, improved access to preventive healthcare services, early detection, and strengthened linkage to care for individuals requiring follow-up services.
Together, we are empowering communities with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed health decisions and build healthier futures.
