@mu_bu_amara @AfricanHub_ I intend to mean that you understand what worship is and the different kinds of worship rendered to God, to the Mother of God and the saints.
@DiasLucas81818 @TheMistressB I must suppose that for one to understand very well the true devotion to Mary suggested by De Montfort, one must read about it many times. I recently renewed my consecration by still trying to understand it's true practice.
This is it! Headed to the church to pray w/ my RCIA group before the Mass!
The world is wrong about Catholics. They are the most supportive, loving & holy people I’ve ever known.
Thank you, dear Lord, for leading me home & thank you to all who’ve supported me on this journey.🙏
I have multiple friends in various parts of the country coming into the Catholic Church from protestantism on this holy night.
For most of them, it all began when they were willing to do two things: first, dig a bit into history; and second, simply hear what the Church had to say with an open mind, rather than believing the constant stream of slanders and calumnies that are leveled at Her by those who often don’t have a clue what they are talking about, and are often simply regurgitating the slanders they heard from others.
God be praised! His grace gently but surely brings those of good will to the Truth.
"If Protestants knew thoroughly how their religion was formed; with how many variations and with what inconstancy their confessions of faith were drawn up; how they first separated themselves from us, and afterwards from one another; by how many subtleties, evasions, and equivocations they labored to repair their divisions, and to re-unite the scattered members of their disjointed reformation; this reformation of which they boast would afford them but little satisfaction, or rather, to speak my mind more freely, it would excite in them only feelings of contempt."
Bishop Jacques Bossuet, “The History of the Variations of the Protestant Churches” (Volume I, Preface) (1688)
“Don't waste your time in life trying to get even with your enemies. The grave is a tremendous equalizer. Six weeks after you all are dead, you'll look pretty much the same. Let the Lord take care of those whom you think have harmed you.”
- Mother Angelica
St. John Damascene, Doctor of the Church (749)
He opposed the Iconoclast heresy and wrote in defense of religious images when Emperor Leo the Isaurian forbid their veneration. The caliph ordered his hand to be cut off, which was miraculously restored by the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Judas Iscariot lost his faith in Jesus Christ when Christ taught about “eating my flesh and drinking my blood.”
Ever since the previous year, when the
Master had told them about the Eucharist, Judas was lost.
Referring to him on one occasion, Jesus had said, “ Have not I chosen you twelve; and one of you is a devil”
(jn 6,71)
A woman’s innate desire is to nurture and a man’s is to protect. Abortion not only takes the life of an innocent child, it destroys the very nature of who we were created to be.
"Two things," say Cicero,"make us know a lover-that he does good to his beloved, and that he suffers torment for him;and this last is the greatest sign of true love."
“My life experience has been that only the practice of religion can assure concord in families and the happiness of those who live in the valley of tears.”—St. John Bosco
Walking a few kilometers has seemed a whole purgatory for me! How courageous and patient you must have been, O Sons of Africa!
Pray for us cowards for the grace to suffer more for the love of Christ.
