This acquisition by the Blues helped the family be back together as they spent the season a part so his son could remain in his specialized school in St. Louis and with the insurance back—cover expenses for their son.
This is just an all time gesture by the Blues in my opinion.

Not to be lost on last night—14 year vet Chris Thorburn was handed the cup third.
He spent the entire season in the AHL & the Blues recalled him in April.

This allowed his NHL insurance to kick back in & cover expenses for his autistic son, coverage he lost by being sent down.
