Some people think the officer went to far and her arrest was overkill or improper saying it should have stayed as a traffic citation, but the official charge stood.

She was arrested but bond was set at $2500 and she was likely released a few hours later. Most cases like this low-level charges resolve in plea deals with reduced charges and fines or probation.
