@mathstechnology @STEMLearningUK @Advanced_Maths When students square root each term seperately in an algebraic equation. I always write 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2 and then 3 + 4 = 5 to highlight that this doesn't work.

I think that the grade statistics have settled in about the right place for GCSE Mathematics to recognise students having a good day in the exam.

In very broad terms, every normal year there’s about 1% of the cohort scoring a total mark that’s one below the boundary for 4.

Hoping there will be an announcement about how the U turn on CAGs will affect university places soon? The added stress for parents and students of trying to find accomodation which they would have had if they had got their place to begin with but may not be available anymore.

Our fab maths teacher @T_M_Maths thoroughly enjoyed visiting @Charles Darwin for a maths afternoon with their Mockingbirds. We explored how flipping a coin leads to Pascal's Triangle which has so many wonderful mathematical patterns including Sierpinski's Triangle!
