We honestly DO NOT talk enough about how God will give you a completely ordinary day. No emergencies, no devastating phone calls, no chaos. Just peace.
That alone is a blessing.
The NFL asked Jay-Z to headline the Super Bowl seven years ago, and he told them to forget it.
Back in 2019, Roger Goodell signed Jay-Z's company to run the halftime show, and he had exactly one request. He wanted Jay-Z up on that stage himself someday. Jay-Z told him that if the deal was about him performing, they could end the conversation right there.
And he wasn't bluffing. A year before that he'd rapped about turning down the Super Bowl during the whole Kaepernick fight. So instead of performing, Roc Nation took a reported $5 million a year to go pick everybody else.
Here's who he picked. Shakira and J.Lo, the Weeknd, Dre and Snoop and Eminem at SoFi in 2022 (that one won an Emmy), Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick, Bad Bunny.
Kendrick's show in 2025 pulled 133.5 million viewers and knocked off Michael Jackson's record from 1993. Usher and Bad Bunny come in right behind them. So three of the four most-watched halftime shows ever were Jay-Z's calls, and he never once put his own name in.
Then this year he went back on tour for the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt. Three nights at Yankee Stadium did over $42 million. The last two shows were this past Friday and Saturday at SoFi in Inglewood, which happens to be where Super Bowl LXI is on February 14.
Two days after that, the NFL dropped the announcement. It's Jay-Z in black and white, sitting by himself in an empty stadium with goats walking around the seats and one lying across his lap.
Goodell's getting his one request after all. It took seven years, and it lands on Valentine's Day in front of a wife who's already done the halftime show twice.
Damon Dash listed $4,350 in assets and $25.3 million in debt. Creditors just bought the rights to his life story for $550,000.
He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke. In September 2025 he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Florida.
The petition put his debts at $25,303,049.47 to as many as 49 creditors. About $19.1 million of that was taxes. About $648,000 was domestic support for Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales.
His assets: $100 in cash, a $500 cellphone, and two guns worth $750.
In August 2024, his one-third share of Roc-A-Fella was auctioned to the New York Department of Taxation and Finance to cover tax debt.
Then the trustee, Traci K. Stevenson, told the court he had not listed his life rights among his assets. She argued that a person's name, image, likeness and life story are transferable property.
The court record:
On October 1, 2026, those rights went to auction.
Everlasting Films LLC won at $550,000. The opening stalking horse bid was $37,000.
Backup bidder Doug Peters stands at $500,000 if the deal fails to close.
The package: exclusive worldwide life rights, about 100 hours of video, photographs, memorabilia, and an unreleased documentary project.
The money goes to his creditors. He gets none of it.
A final approval hearing is set for October 27, 2026.
In the video below, on an earlier Roc-A-Fella auction, Dame says: "This was my auction. This is my life."
The case for the creditors: he filed with $25.3 million in debt and $4,350 in assets. The trustee said the life rights had clear value and had been left off the schedule. Chapter 7 sells assets to pay what is owed.
The case for Dame: he spent years telling artists to own their masters and their story. The buyer now owns how he got here. Everything after the September 2025 filing still belongs to him.
Who should own the story of a man who built Roc-A-Fella: the creditors he owes, or the man who lived it?
They didn't play football. They committed robbery. And they smiled while doing it.
For 12 years, Bayern Munich didn't have wingers. They had two forces of nature on opposite flanks.
On the left, Franck Ribéry. A boy from the streets of Boulogne sur Mer who survived a car crash at 2 years old that left a scar on his face. He played like the scar, raw, fearless, beautiful. The ball was not at his feet, it was in his pocket. He would look at a full back, grin with missing teeth, and say come and take it. Nobody ever could.
On the right, Arjen Robben. Bald, thin, cold. The most honest man in football, because he told you exactly what he was going to do. I will cut inside on my left foot and score. You knew. The defender knew. The goalkeeper knew. 80,000 fans knew. And he still did it. Every single time. A crime you see coming but can't stop.
They called them Robbery.
And this picture? This laugh? This is after the storm.
They hated each other once. In 2012, after a Champions League semi final, Ribéry slapped Robben in the dressing room over a free kick. Bayern lost the final that year at home. Robben missed a penalty. Ribéry was suspended. They were broken. Two geniuses who couldn't stand each other.
But beauty is born from broken things.
A year later, Wembley, London. Champions League Final. Dortmund. 89th minute, 1-1.
Ribéry receives the ball, injured, bleeding, exhausted. He doesn't shoot. He does the most unselfish thing a street fighter can do, he gives. A delicate backheel, through the chaos, into Robben's path.
Robben, the man who missed a year before, the man who was called a choker, runs and finishes. Left foot. Of course.
And Bayern wins the Treble.
That hug in this picture is not just a celebration. It is forgiveness. It is redemption. It is two men who realized they needed each other to be immortal.
They stayed for 10 more years. 8 Bundesligas. They left on the same day, May 18th, 2019. Both scored in their last game. Both cried.
They didn't create beauty like Messi or Ronaldo. They created a different beauty.
The beauty of the wing. The beauty of taking your man on. The beauty of two flawed, difficult, brilliant men learning to love each other on a football pitch.
Football will never see another Robbery.
JAY-Z | Family Feud | The Godfather
Verse 1’s “Family Feud” is about the Black (&) Hip Hop community.
(He also references Steve Harvey because he hosted Family Feud the game show😮💨🔥).
Verse 2’s “Family Feud” is about his own family(Bey), but it’s also about the Corleone family from The Godfather.
Someone in the family set Michael up to be k*lled & although Michael’s common sense helped save his life, the dangerous lifestyle ultimately caused his wife to leave. So yes he was betrayed by someone close, however him losing his wife was still his fault for the danger he brought to their home.
Someone told Bey about Jay’s infidelity, & it doesn’t matter who or why they “betrayed” him because he shouldn’t have been doing dirt in the 1st place.
That’s the lesson he referenced in the song. The same lesson he missed, even after watching The Godfather 100 times.
This is a perfect example why Hip Hop is in it’s current state: This is how DMX sounded in 91. If he had Social Media he would’ve put out music sounding like this. Because there wasn’t he was forced to work on his craft and earn his opportunity. He evolved in to the DMX WE LOVED!
King Shaka paid lobola for Monase Nxumalo on behalf of his brother Mpande, and she was already pregnant(by Shaka) at the time. She went on to bear Mbuyazi who became one of Mpande’s sons and later a central figure in the succession struggle with Cetshwayo.
It cuts directly against the “virgins only” argument. If the king himself paid lobola for a woman with child, the custom clearly wasn’t a purity test it was about uniting families and legitimizing the union, whatever the circumstances….. ilobolo is a covenant between two families, not a price tag on a bride. Purity is honored through one specific cow, “Ingquthu”not through lobola itself. The other ten cows must be paid regardless. So the virginity condition sits inside the system as a bonus, not as the foundation.
Having said all this Purity(Virginity) is sacrosanct too very important. We must encourage it by all means. Kuhle ukuzigcina kuze kufike isikhathi esifanele 👌🏾
@Mxbeez That man defeated a seating President, then dealt with everyone who was against him in the ANC. The RET entire faction is gone or now aligned to him. Silent and dangerous that buffalo
JAY-Z breaking down his verse from 'I Love the Dough' 🔥
"People don't really listen. If you listen, I always gave you the reason."
