@DTG616@s_pace39@tipping_pitches The system is broken on both ends I think if you solve the top of the market the bottom will follow because the investments have a higher chance of success.
@DTG616@s_pace39@tipping_pitches I only cite the Dodgers because they are the most egregious. I also knew before the season the Yankees, Blue Jays and Phillies would make it. These teams Mets too but they have found a level of incompetence never seen before.
@DTG616@s_pace39@tipping_pitches Annually no, over time yes. But I’m not obsessed with whether the owners get rich or not. I don’t care how these assholes split their 12 billion dollar pie. I want a baseball where I don’t know who is going to win the NL West in January.
@DTG616@s_pace39@tipping_pitches I think we’re getting off topic here. If there is a way to ensure the Dodgers don’t win the National League West in March that does not involve a cap system, I’m all for it. But the game is broken whether you see it or not. 80% of the fans agree with me.
@DTG616@s_pace39@tipping_pitches Obviously, some owners feel it’s not worth the risk. Because if it were a good business move, they would do it. These are generally pretty good business people.
@DTG616@s_pace39@TVtrafficCop@tipping_pitches Well, it’s in San Diego one of the best cities in the country as far as climate it’s also the only professional sports team in that town so it’s an attractive investment
@DTG616@s_pace39@TVtrafficCop@tipping_pitches That’s why they’re always good. The Rays too. These teams do not generate the same amount of revenue as the Dodgers and Mets. They’re good enough to compete but not rich enough to win. They have to churn their roster. You think they have the money. I know they don’t.
