The UAE is exporting more oil. Iran is importing more manufacturing goods and food commodities.
The two countries don't just have a "truce." They are working together to boost resilience while they wait for Trump to give up on his war.

UAE-funded activities are shutting down on the Yemeni island of Socotra. Circulated videos shows the dismantling of a site that was intended to host the UAE’s annual Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival on the island.
There are also reports that Emirati-linked business activities, particularly in the fisheries sector, as well as UAE-based travel agencies operating in Socotra, are closing down.
These developments follow a decision by Yemen’s Saudi-backed, internationally recognized government to halt all direct maritime commercial shipping and airline traffic from the UAE to the island.
To the best of my knowledge, there are currently no UAE military forces stationed on Socotra. The only foreign military presence on the island is a Saudi military task force operating alongside local forces. These local units have historically been aligned with the Southern Transitional Council @STCSouthArabia, but like other southern forces across South Yemen, they are now pledging loyalty to the Saudi-backed Yemeni government.

BREAKING: White House shares Trump’s Gaza plan:
President Donald J. Trump’s Plan to End the Gaza Conflict:
•Gaza would become a demilitarized, terror-free zone and be redeveloped for its people.
•Ceasefire & withdrawal: If both sides agree, the war ends immediately. Israel halts operations, withdraws to agreed lines, and prepares for a hostage release.
•Hostage & prisoner swap: All hostages returned within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance; Israel frees 250 life-sentence prisoners and 1,700 post-Oct.7 detainees, including women and children.
•Hamas amnesty & exit: Members who disarm and accept peace get amnesty; others may leave Gaza safely.
•Massive aid & rebuilding: Immediate humanitarian aid; infrastructure repair; new economic development plan and special economic zone to create jobs.
•Transitional governance: Gaza run by a technocratic Palestinian committee under an international “Board of Peace” chaired by Trump and global partners (e.g., Tony Blair).
•Security: A U.S.-backed International Stabilization Force (ISF) with vetted Palestinian police secures Gaza borders and keeps weapons out.
•Israel’s role: IDF withdraws gradually as ISF takes control; no Israeli annexation or occupation.
•Guarantees: Regional partners ensure Hamas compliance; demilitarization monitored and verified.
•Political horizon: Long-term path toward Palestinian self-determination and a future state if PA reforms succeed.
Very good interaction with Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Nikol Pashinyan. India and Armenia share warm and growing ties, rooted in friendship and mutual cooperation.

4- In reaction to his remarks, 🇱🇧PM reportedly told Larijani “Beirut doesn’t need to learn a lesson from any side (Iran) neither will accept foreign interference in its affairs (aka Iran).
Lebanon’s president reportedly told him no party in Lebanon is allowed to possess weapons.
Bafel Talabani appears to have deployed 4,000–5,000 fighters to assault the compound of Lahur Sheikh Jangi, who was defending it with only ~200 fighters. Talabani’s forces also used 120–150 explosive-laden drones, 9–15 tanks, ~1,000 mortar rounds & 150–250 armed vehicles.
What explains the deployment of such an overwhelmingly disproportionate force against a small armed group? Perhaps it reflects a mix of paranoia on Bafel’s part and fear of a scenario in which Lahur and his men might hold out long enough to force a settlement without Lahur’s capture. To avoid that, he sought to leave no room for anything but a quick and decisive attack. Failure to capture Lahur would have been disastrous for Bafel. His rule is already shaky, and he is hemmed in by disgruntled PUK leaders who are conspiring against him and waiting for the right moment to move.

China’s trade with Central Asia hit $94.8B in 2024, over 2x their trade with Russia. Beijing builds pipelines, rail lines, and ports. China’s paramilitary police now operate in Tajikistan. 5/
My interview with #DerSpiegel: “Turkey now supplies weapons to the Haftar family, offers training for its soldiers, and helps Turkish companies in rebuilding eastern Libya. More importantly, the Haftar family hopes to expand its sway in western Libya with Turkish support. Within this context, humiliating Greece served as a cheap way for the Haftars to demonstrate their alignment with Ankara and their expectation of further gifts from Turkey.”

Israel's political landscape is facing yet another stalemate, with both the coalition and the opposition struggling to form a stable government. The rise of a new party, potentially led by Yuli Edelstein, may offer the solution. ✍️ @HerbKeinon

2/4 Following recent breakthroughs in Ankara and Washington, LNA Ground Forces Commander Saddam Haftar is now engaging Algeria, one of the last regional powers still aligned with the Tripoli-based GNU.
This marks the next phase in the LNA’s calibrated foreign policy shift.
Algeria has had an antagonistic relationship with the LNA. Tensions were shaped by border security, geopolitical rivalry, and broader alignment with the GNU.
But recent shifts in the regional and international posture are prompting Algiers to re-evaluate.
While the GNU grows weaker and the situation in Tripoli appears increasingly unsustainable, the LNA is gaining international recognition and strengthening ties across the board, from NATO members to Russia.
Algeria doesn’t want to be left behind.
Indonesia has secured a deal with the US, slashing threatened tariffs from 32% down to 19% on its exports. In return, Jakarta will eliminate tariffs on U.S. goods and commit to major purchases, including $15 billion in American energy, $4.5 billion in agricultural products, and 50 Boeing aircraft. The agreement includes safeguards to prevent transshipment from third countries.
This is the latest in a series of bilateral trade wins for Washington - delivered just ahead of Trump’s August 1 tariff deadline. The message is clear: pay up, or pay the price for the entry ticket to the American supply chains, markets or security umbrella.
