⭕️ Hardline Iranian MP Seyyed Mahmoud Nabavian, a senior figure in the ultraconservative Paydari (Steadfastness) Front and a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, is publicly criticizing the emerging U.S.-Iran agreement.

🔹In one post, Nabavian says that after reviewing the draft text, it is “more damaging” than two previous versions and that “Iran’s concessions have also increased.”

🔹In another, he attacks the negotiating team by arguing that any deal crafted by the “architects of the ignominious JCPOA” would amount to “pure damage,” while taking a shot at and sharing Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s statement that the Islamabad memorandum is close to completion.

Araghchi was one of the principal architects and negotiators of the 2015 JCPOA. He served as Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs under Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and was one of Iran’s lead negotiators in the talks with the P5+1.

Nabavian himself was also part of the large Iranian delegation that traveled to Islamabad this April.
