It's similar to California and New York State for you, but worse because of our archaic voting system.

Albertans should approach the Oct 19 referendum fairly, calmly, and with clear eyes. This is not about anger or division. It is about whether Alberta can keep accepting a federal system that too often treats our province as a source of revenue rather than an equal partner.

For decades, Ottawa has held Alberta back through policies that discourage investment, obstruct responsible resource development, and harm the prosperity that supports jobs, families, and public services. Albertans have tried elections, negotiations, court challenges, and constitutional arguments, yet the unfairness continues.

That is why I believe Albertans should vote for Option 2 on Oct. 19. It is a democratic way to say the status quo is no longer acceptable. If Ottawa will not treat Alberta fairly, Albertans must be prepared to stand up for our economy, our future, and our right to decide what comes next.

@echipiuk The problem isn't just the politicians, it's the electorate. Liberal supporters don't care what their politicians do, as long as they say what they want to hear. Conservative supporters turn on their leaders so quickly it doesn't matter who runs.

@Martyupnorth Yes, the Separation movement needs to focus on the messaging of why this is better for AB in the LONG TERM. We need to stop wasting resources harping on @ABDanielleSmith . She has been a constructive Premier thus far, and did not campaign as a Separatist.

I just received a phone call from the UCP.

I have supported them monetarily in the past, and they were looking for another donation.

I like Danielle Smith, a lot. She is the best Premier, hands down, since Ralph Klein. I empathize with the position that she's in right now. She is being diplomatic and acting like a Premier should...but that means she is trying to please everybody and in doing so, she isn't pleasing anyone. She has been very clear that she is a Federalist, and is trying to make life better for Albertans. Most Albertans know that we will never prosper in this country.

I politely told the canvasser that I am a Separatist and that I believe my money is better-spent by furthering the Separatism cause. I am a realist, and I don't think Separation will happen overnight, but I have faith that it will happen. As long as the Liberals are in power, people will continue to see the light. There is power in numbers, so keep talking to your friends, relatives and neighbours and debunking the scare tactics of the state media and the Left. If we keep pushing forward, we can do this - we have no other choice but to fight - for our children, our Grandchildren, and for future generations.
