Christmas led to the Cross, and on both days, Jesus accomplished what no one else could. There is no one like Him. He is Supreme. Stellar. Significant. Sturdy. He will stand the test of time. For all who call on His name will be saved.
In Exodus now in my daily Bible reading. Chapters 3-4. God finds Moses on the far side of the wilderness. Calls to him from a burning shrub that attracts his attention—not because it’s on fire but—because the fire is not destroying it. That’s a lesson right there. There’s fire
I'm deeply grateful that scripture isn't a collection of sanitized stories of holy people. It's rather a collection of stories of ordinary, broken people loved by God, and made holy through a righteousness outside of themselves.
Most of the things Jesus asked His friends to do were simple, but they weren’t easy. He told them to drop their plans because He had new ones for them, and it meant they had to give up being in charge. They had to let go of their need to be in control.
