@mr_arrrrrr I walk 1000 steps in 10 mins at a pace of ~4.5km/h. So roughly 7.5km and roughly 1hr40mins. It's certainly achievable on any given day, but I don't do it every day. I average about 8500 steps.
@Arity1020@notoatkitty The "calorie" referred to on food packaging is actually a kilocalorie, where a real singular calorie is the energy required to heat 1g of water by 1 Kelvin (very very little energy)
@notoatkitty 3000kcal is maintenance for a tall and highly active male (can be higher for pro athletes and powerlifters). Can be as low as 1600kcal for low-activity women.
100kcal would be a rather small doughnut with little to no sugar. Any doughnut you buy at a shop is gonna have more.

@themoderntimes_ Writing in English for a global audience involves removing all region-specific phrases from the text. British, American, Australian, Canadian... All of them should do it if they don't want readers' experience of the story to be disrupted.
@xboxbodywash I had a MATLAB exam once where we were told the professor would run the code once with a given input and check it only if the output wasn't correct. I got stuck on how to code one question, but I knew how to solve the answer so I did it by hand and hard coded the answer.
@jordan_myers@PolitlcsUK Bear in mind we are talking about screening only. As far as treatment goes, everyone gets the exact same level of care under the NHS (in theory)
