@YesThatBrooke@ProspectsUsmnt The federations stance on this has been pretty clear. The only way you’re getting a call up is if you’re at a professional club. And as it should be
Down 0-3 at halftime to winning 5-4 took some doing..
However, one thing I can tell you is that the coaching staff brought an incredible belief, in the team's ability to perform well in the 2nd half, into our halftime talk.
This emotional contagion swept through the entire squad
Fear…
No matter the skill in your feet, fear can stifle and suffocate. It can tear talent apart. It can annihilate ability.
Champions can be found wanting. The easy becoming difficult. The simple becoming complex.
Jamie Carragher illustrates this by highlighting the incredibly gifted Liverpool players hiding. Urging the ball to go long. Refusing to show for it. Seeing the game out with fingers crossed more so than with intelligence and confidence.
Fear is performance anxiety. It’s a low intent, energy-back. It’s hesitancy of action rather than positivity of movement and motion. It’s inhibition as opposed to purposeful play. It’s passiveness and caution rather than proactiveness and expansiveness.
Small rather than big…
Players need to learn to respond to their inner impulses. They need to learn to respond to the thoughts that envelope their mind, and the emotions and feelings that surge through their body.
With weight settled forward they should show for it. While ignoring their internal strife they should lean into the challenge. With discipline and determination they should execute actions confident, brave, and aggressive…
…even when everything inside of them encourages the opposite.
This is what it is to be mentally skilful. This is what it is to be mentally tough. This is what it is to be mentally strong. This is fearless football…and fearless football takes daily work.

Thierry Henry delivers a MASTERCLASS on the roots of Total Football and how Rinus Michels changed the game forever. 🔥📚
Seriously… pause everything and watch this. Absolute football education. 👏
@UnfilteredSoccr To speak so confidently about something he has absolutely no experience in screams arrogance. Might’ve been a top player but he needs to humble himself before speaking on topics he doesn’t have a clue about
Speaks like a general addressing his soldiers.
Greatest motivator.
Greatest innovator.
Greatest tactician.
Greatest footballing artist.
Pep Guardiola. The greatest of all time.
Six games to go. We will be there.
Throwback to when Conte who was Chelsea’s manager at the time gave his thoughts on the difference between the Premier League & Serie A.
“In the Italy League, if you are winning 1-0/2-0, you can manage the situation. Here? it’s impossible.” 😂
🚨💻 Roberto De Zerbi: “When I don’t work in my office, I go to find something important for me to give more information about the players because we have no time and have to consider everything to stay up”.
“I use YouTube or Wyscout to find the best solution for the players”.
Loved this. An emotional Rino Matarazzo on what it means for his family who supported him through the long, hard journey to here. Don’t turn back, don’t give up. From New Jersey, via Italy and Germany to a historic Copa del Rey triumph with Real Sociedad. @espnfc
