I will talk about what I have found out to date, including how the Welsh heritage of the chair is intertwined with my Palestinian one, inviting an (as yet undetermined) aesthetic response that honours crafting traditions from both places."
We meet tomorrow, 5th May at St John's (NB this is a change of venue!), from 12.30-2.30 in the Boys Smith Room in the Fisher Building. We'll be hearing from Sura Qadiri, on 'A Tale of Two Seat Pads: Upcycling a Chair with a Story'. Please come! Bring your lunch!

VENUE NOW CHANGED — Sura Qadiri’s session will now be at St John’s College, in the Boys Smith Room in the Fisher Building, which is on the Backs side of the river.

Spending my Sunday rescuing the dolls from semi-retirement & dusting them off ready for my first post-covid upcycling workshop at Durham. Thanks to Marie-Claire Barnet for the invitation, inspired by my 2019 session @TacticsPraxis in Cambridge. Excited to see how this plays out!
There is space at this event later, which should be a fantastic conversation about life, stitching, research and community — Louise Haywood is hosting Vanessa Marr. Ignore the booking deadline! You can still come — just turn up or DM if you have any questions.

Today! We would love to see you there. We are bringing stuff for badge making but if there’s anything you’d particularly like to use do bring it along. (Nothing too chunky or it won’t fold up at the back.)
We three Tactics organisers will be offering a small teach out/social gathering tomorrow, in solidarity with the UCU strike action. We will have materials to make pin badges together using this awesome gadget, and paper/collage/stitching. (1/2)
