🤝 Strengthening India–Netherlands Cooperation Against Drug Trafficking.

🔷 Mr. Anurag Garg, Director General, NCB India, held a meeting with a delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands led by H.E. Ms. Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, on 17 June 2026.

🔷 The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in combating drug trafficking, including exchanges on the prevailing drug situation, legal frameworks, operational challenges, best practices, and emerging threats of mutual concern.

🔷 Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening international cooperation against illicit drug trafficking and organized crime. The possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on narcotics control and cooperation between the respective agencies was also discussed.

🚨 NCB Mumbai has successfully executed a preventive detention order under the PITNDPS Act against habitual drug trafficker Navin Gurunath Chichkar and transferred him from Yerwada Central Jail, Pune, Maharashtra to Puzhal Central Jail, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

🔷 Chichkar has been repeatedly involved in the trafficking of cocaine, hydroponic ganja, cannabis gummies & LSD. He had absconded from India & was subsequently deported from Malaysia in May 2025.

🔷 Considering the gravity of his persistent involvement in illicit drug trafficking, the NCB initiated proceeding for his preventive detention under the PIT-NDPS Act, which were executed on 16.06.2026. The PIT-NDPS Act remains a powerful legal instrument to incapacitate hardened & repeat drug offenders, thereby safeguarding society from the menace of narcotics.

🔷 NCB remains committed to a network-centric approach targeting drug syndicates, kingpins & habitual traffickers in pursuit of a #NashaMuktBharat2047.

▪ एयरपोर्ट, मेट्रो और संवेदनशील संस्थानों की सुरक्षा CISF संभालती है।
▪ नेपाल और भूटान की सीमा पर SSB के जवान 24 घंटे डटे रहते हैं

हॉट स्प्रिंग, सरदार पोस्ट और ऑपरेशन सिंदूर में भी इन बलों ने अपनी वीरता का परिचय दिया है।
