@OBolarin11 Yeah the BBC and BAFTA didn't handle it well at all but I feel like it would've still gotten out and all this discourse would happen anyway
@OBolarin11 Yeah that makes sense.
But where is/is there a line drawn? Should people with tourettes that cause involuntary outbursts of physical violence be given the same grace and everyone around them just accept that they get smacked?
@OBolarin11 Sure the people that are calling the guy a blatant racist are dumb but there is no "both sides" where we can be inclusive to people with tourettes without basically saying the n word isn't that harmful.
@OBolarin11 But that's the main question though
All of the discourse boils down to "Should black people have to accept that they may be called racial slurs when accepting awards since the person making the slurs didn't mean it?"
The longer people refuse to answer the longer the discourse
@OBolarin11 I don't think so tbh. The number of streams you need to get nowadays to make up for the lack of pure sales is crazy. I don't think any uk artist can touch those numbers again
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like. https://t.co/uts7JpJZzN
@OBolarin11@_JMiller14 Yk it's not just them though cmon. They don't look like the better team in so many ties but there's always someone on the other team that loses composure against them
