Day 3

I dey yan you make you no go Libya.

Di chance say dem fit kidnap person high well well.

I jam one Naija guy wey dem kidnap, torture, use am like slave for Arabs side for 8 months, but e still pay ransom make dem free am.

I jam one young guy from Edo wey dem kidnap carry go Central Africa Republic (CAR), then dem sell am give another set kidnappers. After two time wey dem hold am and five months wey e dey waka for road no reach Libya, e turn back go Naija.

Dem nearly carry me go as person kidnap me sef. And guess wetin? If dem carry you go and you pay ransom sharp sharp, wahala dey. If you pay am late, gbege still dey.

Two years after joining the Police. There were so many cases/reports of house breaking and theft, and many of the complainants were suspecting the same guy. There reason was that he’s always spending money buying things and he does nothing for a living.

That fortunate day, he broke into a man’s house while the man was out. But before he could finish his operation, the man returned and while he was trying to escape, he was finally caught. It was a case of the whole community. The Village head himself came to the station to tell the DPO categorically that the suspect MUST go to JAIL.

His statement was obtained and he was aptly detained. I was sleeping around 1am when DPO called me to come to the station. Arriving, I heard the suspect shouting in the cell and crying. According to the CRO, he’s been crying and vomiting for over 20mins, complaining about his stomach.

My colleague was the IPO but because his number wasn’t reachable, and since I stayed just close to the station, I was asked to come and take him to the Hospital for treatment.

I was so NEW in the job, but from my experience of watching several HIGH CRIME MOVIES, something kept telling me that the guy was just looking for a way to escape. I told the DPO that from my observation, I do not think anything was wrong with him, he was only acting up and looking for a way to escape that midnight.

The DPO got angry and even said if anything happened to the suspect, my head would go for it. Of course, he did that cause nobody wants a SUSPECT to die under his custody as DPO.
