I've been working with #PhadPhp for awhile now & am quite liking it. I need to add a lot of polish & probably better documentation, but after months of work on it, I'm happy it's working well.
Unfortunately, as I'm focusing on my local business, my #foss work is dwindling.
@fn_schubert Yeah, that's a really good point. Php is pretty easy to just get into and start fiddling with it. & nowadays it does allow us to get all typesafe & stuff if we want.
as a long-time php developer who really likes php, i disagree. I wish i had learned a lower level language long ago. I wish i were well versed in Rust. i wish i were in a more performant language. But I'm also not going to make the switch now or any time soon.
But my opinion is not based upon economics. Idk what the job markets are like & PHP may be one of the best for getting hired & it does have a strong community, so there are surely upsides to learning PHP. It just wouldn't be my first choice in regard to the tech itself
@tomaszs2 webp seems to be quite small, which is nice, but yeah i see that being an issue. I personally use png most the time & just fiddle the compression until it's the right balance.
I'm personally fine downloading webp, but don't expect the same of my dad or other regular users
@Ocramius <3 sql. Made a lil #php class to facilitate loading keyed queries from an sql file as part of my lildb project, though it is not well documented (yet) https://t.co/tWz6YQyAF0
@schjlatah Bobby Bojanglles is my fave. ChessSimp has short fun videos, though ChessSimp is a bit ... cringe sometimes with his humor. Eric Rosen is v chill, BotezLive (botez sisters) are fun. Hikaru Nakamura is a grand master, though i don't watch him much.
Browsers support <select> with #a11y features built-in. @bonsaiinc, you may be able to use aria roles to improve this, if you are set upon using the javascript selectors you have https://t.co/26TGaWZ474
This form on @bonsaiinc uses a hidden <select> and a #javascript based dropdown. Without js, there are no <options>. With javascript, there are no #a11y features, such as tabbing to inputs or typing the first couple letters of your state.
