The silence from the wider industry is not maturity. It is self interest. Everyone wants the doors BTS opened, but very few want to stand beside them when they question why the door still leads to a smaller room.

“For artistes with massive worldwide audiences, institutional validation may no longer carry the same weight it once did. By walking away from the Grammys at a moment when they were among the strongest contenders, BTS showed that cultural influence sometimes comes not from accepting recognition, but from refusing it.”

it's killing me that fans of big 3 k-ent groups are acting like their faves are smol poor artists whose livelihoods depend on a token diversity award at the grammys. in the end, bts are willing to give up the easiest win of their career to stand against racism, but the kpop industry, in their infinite self-serving opportunism, are not.
What does it say about the industry when BTS are brave enough to reject a category they find limiting or insulting their art, but others stay silent because they might benefit from it ?

"it is okay to pause. there’s no need to run without knowing the reason. it is okay not to have a dream, as long as there are moments of brief happiness. every breath you exhale is already in paradise" no one talk to me
🐻 After the concert, we get to have time to talk with the members. So it's a shame that I haven't come to do lives much, but instead I'm making great memories with the members.
now that bts became CLEARLY the only group with balls to call out the grammys, now others have to be very vague talking about submitting cause they know that wanting an award, even if it’s in a racist category, will make them look like sell outs and stray kids is exhibit A
🐻 There are those who don't do this and I think they don't look at Weverse, I think they didn't see it, and my Weverse... did I only post it on Weverse?... when I posted it on Weverse, after I said that I'd like people to not come to the hotel, almost 90 people out of 100, ARMYs pretend they don't know us when we are out on the streets. So that we can make even small memorable experiences in those countries, they pretend they don't know and walk past. In fact, they close their eyes tight after seeing us. And that makes us really happy so we say hi first.
🐻 "Hi!"
🐻 And then they go, "*gasp* hi! Blah blah. Have a good day!"
🐻 It goes like that. And we shake hands too.
🐻 And that warms our hearts. And so we say thank you more and give our greetings.
