A vessel can show a location on AIS, but Sea Verity does not just accept that position as correct.

@EthraShip checks the reported location against other evidence first.

That can include port records, receiver coverage, visual reports, satellite confirmation, and observations from people on the ground or at sea.

If those sources support each other, the system can place more confidence in the event.

If they do not, then the information needs more checking.

It is not only about seeing where a vessel says it is.

It is about checking whether that location, identity, timing, and presence are supported by enough independent evidence.

And instead of pretending every report is either completely right or completely wrong, Sea Verity gives the event a confidence score based on how strong the supporting information is.

So tracking tells you what the vessel is reporting.

Verification tells you how much of that report actually holds up when other evidence is added.

That is the real job Sea Verity is doing inside the @EthraShip ecosystem.
