Starting 5 could be nice if they resign their FAs but the bench is terrible. when you empty the chamber of your best young pieces (Jaquez, Ware) and your main salary engine (Herro), the roster gets top heavy fast
Some immediate thoughts
- Giannis / Bam frontcourt is going to be an absolute nightmare defensively. The sheer versatility, switching ability and paint protection will be elite. But the floor spacing is going to be a massive grind unless they find some serious shooters to put around them
- Portis in the deal helps soften the blow slightly for the second unit, but they are essentially going to be relying on min contracts/ring chasers/Spo’s classic developmental magic to fill out the rest of the rotation
- If the offense bogs down due to zero spacing, they risk looking a lot like those recent “high end defense, low end offense” squads that hit a hard ceiling in the playoffs (cough cough Orlando)
A lot of talk about how this title changes or impacts Brunson’s legacy but after this run I can never see KAT as anything other than one of the most lovable personalities in all of basketball.
Man Utd players with more PL goals than Rashford:
— Rooney
— Giggs
— Scholes
— Ronaldo
— van Nistelrooy
— Cole
— OGS
England players with more World Cups goals goals than Rashford:
— Lineker

— Hurst
Respect. On. His. Name. 🫡
My Laker fan takeaway from the finals is.... they are not close. Way too many specialists or 1 way guys on the roster
That NBA finals was filled with multifaceted basketball players on both teams
I think there are a lot of people like myself, who are neither Spurs fans nor Knicks fans, but hoopers who actually played the game—who are disgusted by Fox’s end-game decision, because we know that at NO LEVEL of basketball is that decision ever taught, accepted, or tolerated.
