Still us. 🤍
Found these gems from 2008 taken in a dusty abandoned building back when we were both navigating new parenthood and a very different season of life. Time keeps moving but certain friendships stay beautifully untouched by it. Love you Jason ❤️

I don’t think this is a one day thing.
Seeing all of your photos, stories, memories and messages today has reminded me just how special this community is. Years later and the love for Stargate is still going strong.
Thank you for showing up and making your voices heard. It has been such a joy to celebrate with all of you and I have a feeling we’re just getting started. 💙

@BaronDestructo Do these posts, including the one about SGA Season 6, reflect positive or negative discussions about picking the shows back up again? Regardless, the posts are incredibly appreciated ❤️
Stargate Trivia: A slightly different ending to Stargate: Universe.
In the SGU finale, Eli volunteers to stay behind while the rest of the crew goes into stasis - but when the idea for this episode was originally pitched, the final moments actually came down to Colonel Young and Dr. Rush. Who would stay behind? After a heated debate, the decision is made to leave it to chance. A coin is flipped and, as the coin arcs up and starts to make its descent we Fade Out.
At the time the script for the finale was written and the episode shot, we were under the assumption that we were "probably" going to be picked up for a third and final season. I say "probably" because that's what we were told - yet, being savvy industry veterans, we knew that nothing in this business is ever assured. So when we were in editing, my former writing partner, Paul Mullie, came up with the brilliant idea of capping the episode with a re-use of footage from the show's first episode - but run backwards. In the opener, the camera drifts through the corridors and up through the various levels as the lights turns on and Destiny comes to life. In the finale, it's the reverse. The camera pulls away and drifts down through the various levels as Destiny goes dark.
When I reflect back on Stargate's run, there are handful of scenes that stand out to me as particularly poignant: Daniel's goodbye to Jack at the end of Meridian, the SGC's goodbye to Janet at the end of Heroes II, Rodney's goodbye to Carson at the end of Sunday. But, for me, the saddest of all is Destiny's goodbye to us, the viewers, as it jumps into FTL and leaves us behind for the last time.
Hi @AmazonMGMStudio,
Many of us now work in filmmaking because of shows like Stargate SG-1.
It inspired us with its rich lore, believable character interactions, human drama, and its grounded military science fiction setting.
It showed the progress of humanity from its first baby steps through an unknown portal into a space-faring species.
The show was hopeful, human, and naturally diverse.
It showed the world and mankind coming together despite our differences to create something better.
Indeed, that is what the core of Stargate is and always has been.
We are from around the world.
We are men, women, fathers, mothers, grandparents, grandchilren, and proud of the values Stargate has always stood for. It's rare for a franchise that appeals to people across a political divide, but Stargate always has. It has always stood for the message that we are stronger together. These are the fans.
Martin Gero, Joe Mallozzi, Brad Wright, and everyone else involved have had decades to understand this. There is no better team to trust than the ones who've been there with us the longest. It's a symbiotic relationship.
I, and every Stargate fan, urge you to reconsider during this Window of Opportunity. The writing team was in the middle of their backswing during the cancellation announcement. At least let them finish a season.
We are worth taking a chance on!
I'm Emerald May, and I work in visual effects in Atlanta and I'm proud of shows like Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe that helped steer my career into a place where we make worlds come true.
Thank you.
We want @AmazonMGMStudio to #SaveStargate because these shows are magical. And not just any ol' project can capture lighting in a bottle: @MartinGero's show will bring the franchise into an exciting new era.
Don't take your foot off the gas! Tell Amazon we want Martin's Stargate.
@AmazonMGMStudio@PrimeVideo Stargate doesn’t need to be reinvented. It needs to be continued.
Respect the canon. Respect the characters. Trust the creators who made generations of fans fall in love with this universe.
