On the night of June 21 our network was attacked. We took the time to get this account right rather than rush a partial one, because when trust is on the line you deserve the full and verified picture, not a quick version we would need to correct later.
TAIKO has been removed from the investment warning list on major Korean exchanges, including Upbit and Bithumb.
Following the news, $TAIKO surged 15.9%.
The designation was lifted after the exchanges reviewed Taiko’s explanation of the security incident and its follow-up measures, concluding that the underlying concerns had been resolved.

To everyone who stood by us through this, thank you. We are back, and we are building.

We are also making Taiko stronger than it was. The Unzen upgrade, live August 6, makes a ZK proof mandatory on every block, so no single proof system can ever finalize the chain alone again.
400k agents, 29 chains, and a proper leaderboard now!
Congrats to @8004scan, this is what the onchain agent economy actually looking like real infra 👏
Proud to be one of the chains in the mix.
@Kaptanpisi@protofire@safe Just Protofire tidying up. They've always been the ones maintaining Safe on Taiko, and they're moving all the networks they support onto one shared interface, which means better support and faster upgrades. Nothing changes for your Safe.
Safe on Taiko has a new home!
Taiko and Taiko Hoodi are now live on @protofire's @safe interface, joining 100+ networks on the same infrastructure: https://t.co/OSOFEIHmgv
Pending transactions have already been carried over. If you keep a local address book or settings, export them from the old interface and re-import.
The dedicated Taiko Safe interface sunsets July 31.
Everyone built crypto rails for crypto. The real demand was AI the whole time.
Coordinating GPUs, verifying compute and running Agents onchain is the convergence, and it is already here. Welcome, @boundless!
Boundless set out to build a zero-knowledge proving network. We ended up building something bigger: a global network that coordinates GPU capacity at scale.
Today, we’re expanding into AI.
@sshankar on what’s next:
It's been two days since we reopened and things are running smoothly.
The bridge went live with conservative caps while we confirm everything is stable. Now that the checks are passing, we're steadily raising those caps, starting with the assets people bridge most.
If a transfer ever hits a cap, you'll get a message that explains you've hit the limit and that your funds are safe. The bridge is working exactly as intended.
Step 4 is done. The bridge is open.
You can move funds to and from Taiko again. Our response is complete: the network is fully restored and every user is whole. Any limits in place won't affect normal use.
A reminder: we'll never DM you first, and there's no claim site. Only trust this account.
A full post mortem will be released soon.
Thank you for sticking with us this week. We're back!
Taiko is ready to come back online.
The June 21 attack path is closed, the fixes have been reviewed by independent security experts, and we have a clear, staged plan to restore the chain. We're doing it in four careful steps, to ensure user’s security and stability before it goes live:
1. Deploy the fixes and confirm the chain's finalized state is correct, with no forged checkpoints or attacker claims reachable. This will go through the Security Council.
2. Replenish the bridge so every L2 asset is backed 1:1, verifiable on-chain by anyone.
3. Bring the network back: transfers, swaps and trading on L2, live again.
4. Reopen the bridge: after we see the chain finalizing successfully and the network stable, the bridge will be unpaused via a proposal from our Security Council. At this point, operations have been fully restored and users will be able to move funds to and from Taiko freely. We're reopening with conservative withdrawal quotas as an added safeguard, which we don't expect to limit anyone's ability to move assets.
No user will lose funds. We're coming back stronger than before.
We'll never DM you first and there's no claim site, only trust this account.
Attention all Taiko Node Runners!
We’ve released a client hotfix for mainnet to recover the chain post-hack. Please upgrade your client versions to taiko-alethia-client-v2.3.1 and sync fully.
After syncing, please check whether your node’s block hash at height 8,110,008 is 0x358da783a0979fd6a128a79de24b0380d4f6fc90dfe390d120ea0ca938fb5b63.
If it matches, your node is on the correct fork. If it does not, please resync from scratch; if the problem persists, please reach out to us via discord or telegram.
Update to stay connected:
taiko-alethia-client: taiko-alethia-client-v2.3.1
simple-taiko-node: v2.3.1
Taiko is back online, and no one lost a cent.
Steps 2 and 3 are done: the bridge is fully backed again, with every asset matched 1:1 by its counterpart on Ethereum, and the network is live so you can transfer, swap and trade as normal.
One step is left, reopening the bridge to Ethereum. It's coming shortly, and your funds stay safe until then.
Stay sharp: we'll never DM you and there's no claim or refund site, so only trust links from this account.
Step 1 is done.
The Security Council has executed the proposal, the fixes are deployed, and the chain's finalized state checks out clean: no forged checkpoints, no attacker claims left reachable.
On to step 2: replenishing the bridge so every asset is backed 1:1.
