and last thing im gonna say is, ARMYs are the only fandom who immediately recognized that new asian category for what it is: blatant racism, while others were celebrating a potential win for their faves. the fact that BTS, an asian group, thinks the same as us says a lot. 🙏🏽

Há, definitivamente, um grande nível de amargura na decisão tomada pelo o BTS

Sabemos que, não há muito tempo, essa premiação era um dos objetivos a longo prazo dos meninos, e também sabemos (assim como a premiação sabia), que ARIRANG tinha grandes chances de conquistar novos marcos históricos para o grupo

E que, sem sombra de dúvida, eles mereciam. Merecem.

Continuam sendo merecedores de toda validação tradicional da indústria musical, apesar de constantemente serem esnobados, desmerecidos e deixados de lado por não serem produto do mercado estadunidense

Mas, assim como foi a decisão deles de se alistar juntos, escolheram não dar mais palco para um estabelecimento que só fez usar do alcance e audiência deles para ganho próprio, sem um pingo de respeito pela arte deles ou pelo engajamento do ARMY

O BTS não brinca quando se trata da música que eles fazem. Não brinca sobre o quanto realmente consideram o NOSSO apoio o maior marcador deles. Por isso somos fãs deles

E por isso é nosso dever continuar cobrando dessas plataformas e premiações desonestas, e continuar enfiando ele nos picos que claramente a indústria não quer que eles tenham

Desistir do Grammy é valorizar o próprio trabalho e entender que sua música deve ser reconhecida pelo que ela é, não reduzida por ter uma origem diferente. Isso não é birra. A premiação sempre tratou artistas não ocidentais como diferentes e agora resolve “incluir” criando uma categoria separada para o pop asiático. Isso não é reconhecimento! é segregação com uma embalagem bonita. Se um dia o fav de vocês for empurrado para essa categoria e ganhar nela, ao invés de comemorar, talvez seja melhor se perguntar por que ele nunca foi considerado bom o suficiente para competir em igualdade.
