Just saw a chick walking around Target in a t-shirt which read: “Unvaccinated and Unmasked. Because that’s how God made me.”
She was wearing makeup.
Her nails were painted.
And I’d be willing to wager all my money that she isn’t exactly a natural blonde.
I guess God does hair.
I became an ICU nurse at the end of July in 2020, during one of the first peaks of covid when it was all still so new. I learned how to be a nurse behind a respirator and a yellow gown, amidst the constant beeping and hissing of ventilators that couldn't support failing lungs.
Current childcare workers $9-12 is normal. $15+ is incredibly difficult to find.
Parents, remember you get what you’re paying for on this one. Someone that watches your kids for the bare minimum or someone that teaches and nurtures them for actual compensation.
Underpaid professions that deserve at least six figs coming out of college:
1. Teachers (especially in urban communities)
2. Social workers
3. Mental health counselors/professionals
4. Registered Nurses
5. Childcare professionals
I’m hearing from lots of parents reporting that their children are being bullied for wearing a mask. Are you going to stand up for their personal choice @IAGovernor?
Being really intentional about not saying “I’m sorry” when declining a job offer for $12 an hour. I simply cannot apologize for needing to pay my bills, but that’s the easiest way to say no. I’m working on it.
I'm just going to shout it into the void:
There is not a teacher shortage.
There is a SALARY SHORTAGE.
There is a WORK AND LIFE BALANCE SHORTAGE.
There is an EMPATHY SHORTAGE.
There is a BEING TREATED LIKE A PROFESSIONAL ADULT shortage.
I said what I said.
