Glufosinate alone 😀 Mesotrione alone 😕 Glufosinate + mesotrione 🔥😎
That’s the power of effective herbicide tank mixtures.
Deploying synergistic tank mixes with multiple effective sites of action is critical for improving weed control and helping delay herbicide resistance evolution. But stewardship matters: rotate those mixtures and avoid over-reliance on the same chemistries… otherwise we know where that road leads.
Synergistic tank mixes help, but overreliance on the same mixtures still selects for resistance. Diversity and stewardship remain key for long-term weed management success.
We are evaluating 150+ potential tank mixtures for foliar #waterhemp (Amaranthus tuberculatus) control. Stay tuned. 👀

Rotating herbicide modes of action can help manage herbicide resistance, but how? Learn how to prevent herbicide resistance by rotating herbicide modes of action in this video from Mississippi State weed scientist Dr. Luis Avila (@Luis_AvilaState)!

Planting soybeans early in the Upper Midwest can sometimes boost yields, but this practice can also boost weeds in the field that won’t be targeted by a typical preplant weed control tactic like tillage when early season weeds are emerging. Applying a preemergent residual and postemergent herbicide program will battle weeds and protect your early-planted soybean yields regardless of your row spacing, according to Michigan State’s Dr. Christy Sprague.
