@SarcasmOnTheSly It's silly, of course, and they would also jump at the chance to be able to look up any recipe anytime. But there's still a part of me that chides I'm lesser for not cultivating the skill, as if I would be nothing without electricity.

"My ancestors got by just fine without electric mixers; so can I," I say as I whip mousse/meringue/whipped cream until my arms fall off...all while following a recipe I found on the internet.

I'm the person in the group who gives the real (historical or scientific) answer when it was supposed to be a joke.

I can give the joke answer if I know that's what we're doing, but I don't always catch that.

And sometimes I feel like the real answer needs mentioning anyway.

Fun fact: The beginning of each scene in my RALI series uses a word or phrase from the end of the scene before.
