STATS SA CONFIRM HACKERS' DEMANDS

South Africa’s national statistics office, Stats SA, has suffered a cyber attack on its human resources database.

Hackers known as XP95 have demanded a $100,000 (R1.7-million) ransom and threatened to release 154 gigabytes of stolen data by 20 April 2026.
