Ripping up agreements and walking away won't build a strong economy. Real growth takes steady investment in our workers and constructive partnerships across all levels of government.
This week, we launch Canada’s roadmap for the future of AI.
AI for All.
A practical plan to build trust, accelerate adoption, protect Canadians, and make sure more people and businesses can benefit from the opportunities ahead.
Because AI should work for people.
And that is how we build a stronger Canada together.
🇨🇦
What a day! 👟
It was a pleasure to join the World Partnership Walk in Vancouver yesterday and see so many people come together in support of ending global poverty and building stronger communities around the world.
Indigenous Peoples have been stewards of the lands and waters in Canada since time immemorial. Today, they are helping to shape Canada’s future.
This National Indigenous History Month, we honour the histories, cultures, languages, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis across Canada. Together, we can lay a stronger foundation on which to build a better future for all.
As Jewish Heritage Month comes to an end – glad to celebrate the contributions Jewish Canadians have made to our country, and to reaffirm our commitment to the work of education, remembrance, and standing firmly against antisemitism & hate in our communities.
Train testing is officially underway on Vancouver’s Broadway Subway Project.
This is a major milestone for transit expansion in Metro Vancouver that brings a faster, more connected service one step closer to reality.
As Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon concludes her service as Governor General, we thank her for a lifetime dedicated to Indigenous rights, reconciliation, and service to all Canadians.
We’re honouring her work with $5 million to establish the Ajuinnata: The Mary Simon Catalyst for Mental Wellness and we’re matching every dollar up to $10 million that the Rideau Hall Foundation raises. Building on Mary Simon’s advocacy, this project will provide lifesaving counselling, culturally grounded services, and peer-led mental health care to Northern and Indigenous communities.
The Supreme Court of Canada has declined to hear an appeal over the Wolastoqey case.
That means the Court’s finding that Aboriginal title can not be declared over privately owned lands stands.
This important decision will inform arguments in Cowichan.

Excited to join innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs at ALL IN Talks Toronto today to discuss the future of AI in Canada.
Canada has the talent and ambition to be a global leader in AI innovation while creating generational economic opportunities across the country.
On May 28, 1886, the Vancouver Volunteer Hose Company No. 1 answered its first call to protect this city. 140 years later, through every shift, every emergency, and every evolution of this city, that commitment hasn't wavered.

Four Conservative prime ministers. Four Liberal prime ministers. None of them moved to repeal the BC tanker moratorium.
Fast forward to today and Conservatives are pushing through a one-line bill to undo all of it.
Last August, @MarkJCarney and I were in Berlin with Canadian energy executives, selling Canadian energy to our German allies.
In September, we approved Ksi Lisims LNG under our "One Project, One Review" agreement with B.C.
And in November, we referred the project to the Major Projects Office.
Now, Ksi Lisims LNG has secured Canada's very first long-term LNG offtake deal with Europe: a 1 million tonne, 20-year intent to purchase from Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE), a German state-owned energy company. This brings the project one step closer to a Final Investment Decision.
This is what moving at speed and scale on nation-building projects looks like: diversifying exports, ensuring global energy security, growing our GDP while reducing emissions, creating Canadian jobs, and advancing Indigenous ownership and partnership.
Eid Mubarak! May this blessed day bring joy, peace and togetherness to you and your loved ones.
Wishing all Muslims across our community and around the world a beautiful celebration filled with gratitude and happiness.
